Hey O Squad! Life abroad can throw things at you that you have never had to face. I’ve been Black and abroad for a long time, but I can honestly say I’ve never dealt with scorpions or a global pandemic of this level.
Lockdown in Guatemala has been something else. Luckily our small town in Guatemala doesn’t have any know Corvid19 cases, but it does have scorpions. Check out this video where I document our adventures as 2 Black women living abroad. We love being Black expats and exploring the world. Be sure to like our Black & Abroad YouTube channel where we education and inspire other Black women to move abroad and/or travel full-time.
Ruth bitten by a scorpion! Yes, ya’ll – ACCIDENTS HAPPEN ABROAD a big ass scorpion and I almost lost my mind but I didn’t. I stayed relatively calmed and made sure Ruth got the help she needed.
Accidents happen when you abroad, so the most important thing that you prepared and that you can face them with a bit of humor. In the end, they make great stories and as one of the women who helped us reminded me – Guatemalans consider a scorpion bite vitamins for your body.
And of course I killed that scorpion, because ain’t nobody or thing gonna hurt my baby. https://www.youtube.com/embed/uwzH7458nQU
