BLACK DIGITAL NOMAD LIFE: MAKING FRIENDS

events are Running Remote, Nomad Summit, and 7in7 Digital Nomad Conference. Book yourself a slot in any of the events and meet new people.

2. Join Facebook groups

There are many digital nomads and travel-related groups active on Facebook. Search for the digital nomads in your city or the expat groups, maybe or specific professional or sports groups that match your interests. Join these groups, participate in the conversations. This way you might meet your new best friend.

I wrote an article outline some of the top Facebook groups for Black digital nomads.

3. Learn a new skill

You may join some dance class or cooking class, a language class or art class at your new location. You will not only learn something new but find some company too. Bingo!

4. Subscribe to meetup.com

It is an ultimate solution for you to gear up meeting strangers. No matter where you are, there must be a certain meetup happening in your vicinity that might draw your interest. You can access exclusive details about such meetups by visiting meetup.com and find the one worth going.

5. Visit the prominent cafes of the town

Cafes are undoubtedly a digital nomad‘s favorite place to be at, not only for refreshment but for work as well. See if you find other remote workers like you. Approach them, break the ice, and talk about work. You will surely have a good time.

6. Stay in Airbnb:

Airbnb’s are the latest trend and a great way of connecting with locals. It is an easy method of finding a company. When you rent out a single room, you get to share the living space with the host, who might take you on an outing, show you around, and share tips on living in the new town.

7. Walk around the town or take some trips

Hire a tour guide and walk around the town. Ask your guide about the locals’ or remote workers’ hangout places and explore those areas. Maybe you get an invite this way.

8. Become part of online communities

Though we have talked about the Facebook groups, such designated online communities, deserve their separate shout-out. Internations and Nomad List are the two most active forums. You can get answers to your queries, know about the people who are already there in your location or get some handy information on the upcoming events.

We hope that you will find these tips helpful. Pick up your courage and talk to new people. You will not regret it.
