Hey Black Women thinking about are actively looking or planning to move abroad. Congrats on your decision.
I love being Black and Abroad.
And, I absolutely love helping Black women t One of my fav business coaches wrote an article that I loved, where he outlines 3 Mindset Shifts that help you elevate your game.
I’m a single Black mom who lives abroad with my toddler. We travel full-time and our life is not without stress. BUT being black and abroad is so much better than being Black in America for us. No matter, where you are in the world, this advice can been transformational.
I know that they have been instrumental in helping me achieve my success and move abroad, so I decided to share them with you. Let me know what you think.
(1)You MUST become relentlessly committed to your goals and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
Some nights I am awake till 4am, only to wake up at 7am when my daughter wakes up. I’m up late at night working on my business, because I have a dream. Yes, I’m living my dream life abroad. And yes, I’m making money. But the more I see my hard work paying off the higher I continue to aim. My current goal is to train 10,000 Black women on How to Move Abroad and Thrive in the next 5 years. I am well on my way to getting to the goal and I do it by placing one foot in front of the other and being relentless with my goals. I put in the work, I believe that it will happen and I trust that the universe has my back.
(2) Accept the brutal facts of your situation while never losing hope in a positive future.
Shit gets tough sometimes. You may be in a bad situation. You may feel broke. Or alone. Or both or something worse. But you have to know with every part of your being that things will get better and that all you hustle and hard work in paying off. BE THE ETERNAL optimist, especially when thins are rough. No one should believe in yourself and your possibilities more than you do.
(3) You must develop the habit of unbreakable consistency
I’ve found that the reason I have been able to flourish while abroad and just in life in general is because I SHOW UP and I’m consistent. Every day abroad isn’t perfect, but every day I am working to make the best life possible for myself and my daughter, because thriving is my only option. It is my absolute goal in life. Thriving may differ from person to person, but as long as you understand your goal(s) and remain committed to them, you will succeed.
