10 Must Haves to Sprucing Up any Airbnb, Short-term Rental, or Homestay
I travel A LOT and I travel with a toddler in tow. I’ve been traveling for over 20 years, so I know a thing or two or three or four about life on the road, in the air, and on the water.
I’ve done Airbnbs, short-term rentals, housing swaps, couchsurfing – you name it.
I’m 41 years old now and I would be lying if I told you I didn’t have a thing for all things luxury. I want comfort.
Here are 10 items to making every bathroom, a bit more luxurious. These are items that you can easily order on Amazon and have them waiting when you arrive or buy at a local grocery store.
Trust me. You are worth the pampering.
- Essential Oil Diffuser
I absolutely love my diffuser, it is small but packs a powerful punch. There is nothing like taking a shower and having the lovely smell of lavender, eucalyptus, or lemongrass in the air. It just gives any space a spa-like vibe.
Essential oils smell good and are therapeutic. Here are some of my fav reasonably priced ones. You can also go high end with brands like Young Living or DoTerra.
The first thing I like to do when I go to any spa is change out of my streetwear and into my white slippers and robe.
For me, the plusher the robe, the better. And nothing says spa like a white robe.
5. A bottle of wine
Ummmmmmm. . . HELLO… alone time in the bathtub requires a glass of French wine. I prefer reds, but whites can also do the trick.
6. Jazz music
I absolutely LOVE jazz. I love stories from the Harlem Renaissance. I love how many of America’s greatest musicians when bath and forth to Paris, so I enjoy a hot bath with jazz music. One of my favs is Bechet.
7. Macaroons
This is a post-bath treat. I leave 2-3 macaroons on the nightstand.
8. Vase of fresh white roses
9. L’Occitane Shea Butter Ultra Rich Body Cream
10. White candles
